Terms of use

Effective: 6 November 2026 · Contact: [email protected]

Website operator and legal owner: Stephen Taylor, sole trader trading as PREP&RED (United Kingdom). Contact: [email protected].

These terms describe how to use PREP&RED, a UK-focused preparedness information and source-monitoring website. By using the site you agree to use it lawfully and understand the limits below. Nothing here removes rights you have under applicable consumer law.

1. Information, not emergency response

Our content is general information and decision support, not an emergency service, professional safety certification, medical diagnosis, legal advice or a substitute for current instructions from public authorities. In an emergency, follow the responsible official service and contact emergency services when necessary. Do not rely on this website as your only source of alerts.

2. Monitoring coverage and timeliness

Warnings and reports are drawn from selected third-party sources. Geographic and subject coverage is incomplete and may vary. Sources can be delayed, unavailable, corrected or withdrawn. A missing warning or neutral indicator must never be interpreted as proof of safety. Traffic-light indicators may reflect an issuing authority’s warning level within its stated area; they are not automatically an independent assessment of risk across the entire United Kingdom.

3. AI-assisted analysis and corrections

We may use automated tools and artificial intelligence to help collect, organise and draft analysis. Such output can contain errors and is subject to evidence checks and publication controls. We distinguish source statements from our interpretations and may amend, correct or withdraw material. Report a suspected error to [email protected].

4. Guides and household tools

Guides and calculator estimates are general starting points, not tailored advice. Your requirements may depend on age, health, disabilities, housing, manufacturer instructions and other circumstances. Check current official recommendations and product instructions. Browser-stored planner details remain under your control, subject to your browser settings.

5. Equipment and external sellers

PREP&RED provides information and referrals; it does not currently take payments or act as the seller of the equipment described on this website. Orders, availability, specifications, warranties, delivery, cancellations and returns are governed by the actual seller’s terms and applicable law. Product claims are assessed from available sources and are not claims of hands-on testing unless we expressly say so. Commercial links must be clearly marked; see our Affiliate disclosure.

6. Third-party links and official materials

External links are supplied to help readers verify information. We do not control external pages or guarantee their availability, accuracy or security. Official content and government data remain subject to the relevant originator’s rights, terms and attribution conditions.

7. Use of our material

You may share links to our pages and make reasonable personal, non-commercial use of the material. Original PREP&RED text, design and branding are protected where applicable; we do not claim ownership of third-party official information, maps, photographs or supplier intellectual property. Obtain permission before republishing substantial original site content commercially.

8. Availability and liability

We aim to provide an accurate and accessible service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, complete monitoring or error-free information. We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory statutory consumer rights. Subject to those protections, users should verify significant decisions with appropriate authorities and professionals.

9. Changes and contact

We may update, suspend or remove features, amend these terms, or correct outdated information. The effective date above identifies this version. Questions or corrections: [email protected].

10. Governing rules

Applicable UK law governs use of the service, and nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot legally be excluded under the law applicable to you.
