Privacy notice
Effective: 6 November 2026 · Contact: [email protected]
Website operator and legal owner: Stephen Taylor, sole trader trading as PREP&RED (United Kingdom). Contact: [email protected].
PREP&RED provides independent UK preparedness information, source-linked warnings and equipment information. This notice describes personal information handled when you use the present website or contact us.
1. Who is responsible
Stephen Taylor, as sole trader trading as PREP&RED, is the data controller and website publisher responsible for the personal information processed by this service. For privacy questions, access requests or a complaint, email [email protected] with “Privacy” in the subject line.
2. Information we handle
- Website access and security information: IP address, browser/device information, page requests and technical error or security events may be processed by our hosting and security providers to deliver and secure the site.
- Messages you send: when you email us, we receive your email address and the contact details, company information and message you choose to provide. The partner enquiry form prepares an email in your own email application; using the form alone does not submit those details to our website database.
- Household planning: planner inputs and checklist selections are saved in your browser’s local storage to remember your choices. This version of the site does not intentionally transmit those saved values to our servers. You can remove them by clearing the site’s browser storage.
- Public-source monitoring: our monitoring system gathers information from official third-party sources. It is not designed to gather a visitor’s personal circumstances.
3. Why we process it and legal bases
- Operating and protecting the website: our legitimate interests in a reliable, secure service, including preventing abuse, debugging and providing pages.
- Responding to enquiries and potential partnerships: legitimate interests in replying to requests and managing communications; steps prior to a contract where you ask us to discuss an agreement.
- Keeping necessary commercial or legal records: compliance with legal obligations where applicable.
- Optional marketing: we will seek any consent required by applicable law before sending promotional emails or setting optional marketing trackers. The current site does not offer a newsletter signup.
4. Local storage, cookies and tracking
The household planner and checklists use browser local storage for functionality you request. Technical cookies or security measures may be used by hosting infrastructure. This website version does not intentionally deploy advertising pixels or non-essential analytics cookies. If analytics, affiliate trackers or additional cookies are introduced, we will review their legal basis, provide the necessary notices and choices, and update this notice. Clearing browser storage may reset your planner.
5. Other organisations and links
Cloudflare hosts and protects the public website. Supabase supports our public-data monitoring backend. Email providers handle messages you send. We may share relevant enquiry details with professional advisers or partners only when necessary and lawfully permitted. Following a link to a government authority, equipment supplier or other third party takes you to a separate organisation with its own privacy terms.
6. Where information may be processed
Some service providers may operate internationally, including outside the UK. International processing must be assessed against the applicable UK data-protection transfer requirements. Contact us for information about any transfer and safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
7. Retention
We aim to remove routine enquiries once they are no longer needed; in ordinary cases we aim to review them for deletion within 12 months of the last meaningful correspondence. Records connected to a continuing relationship, a dispute or a legal obligation may be kept longer where justified. Technical/security logs follow the retention settings and policies of the relevant hosting or email provider. Planner and checklist information stays in your browser until you clear it or your browser removes it.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law and exemptions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email us with your request; we may need to verify your identity before responding.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, contact us first. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
10. Changes
We will update the effective date and this notice if our data practices or service providers materially change. This notice concerns the current PREP&RED website and does not replace third-party privacy notices.
